Why Wabara was denied job slot – FCC

Wabara alleged that his attempts to secure jobs for people in his wards were thwarted, revealing that he gathered that the resistance was because he did not “drop any money.”

He stated, “You won’t believe that up till now nothing has been done for the simple reason that I have not dropped any money and that they cannot even ask me to drop money.”

Reacting in a statement by its Director of Public Affairs and Communication, Dr Chuks Okoli, the FCC emphasised that Wabara was informed during a visit to FCC Executive Chairman, Dr Muheeba Dankaka, in March 2023 that the commission was not functioning as a recruitment agency.

The statement added that the role of the commission was to monitor recruitment processes in various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies to ensure fairness and equity.

The FCC also challenged Wabara to prove his claims, urging the public to disregard his claims of a “bribe for FCC job slot,” stating that the Executive Chairman had maintained a strict adherence to the principles of Federal Character in the recruitment since taking office.
