We've been working to stablise the economy

Deputy Minister of Finance, Dr Stephen Amoah, insists that the government has showed commitment to alleviating the burden on citizens by working around the clock to stabilise the economy.

According to him, despite the various financial woes that have befallen the country as a result of the COVID-19 virus and the Russian/Ukraine war, the government has not introduced new taxes because it felt the citizens were bearing the brunt of the crisis.

“We have done a lot to increase government’s committed by laying a lot of funds in the area of leap, school feeding, in the area so the National Health Insurance and all those things.

“They are clearly evidence or indicative of the fact that the government is highly committed to the welfare of Ghanaians,” he said on July 27.
