'We are not against the EC correcting mistakes'

Newly-elected General Secretary of the NPP, Justin Frimpong Kodua

The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Kodua Frimpong, has clarified that the party supports calls for an audit of the 2024 voters register but insists the process must be carried out in accordance with the law.

He noted that while it is important to ensure transparency and accuracy in the voter register, the Electoral Commission (EC) should follow legal procedures in addressing such concerns.

Mr Kodua Frimpong's comments came after the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) organised a nationwide demonstration on September 17, 2024, under the banner "Enough is Enough."

The protest was aimed at drawing attention to alleged discrepancies in the 2024 general election voters register, with the NDC calling for a forensic audit of both the register and the EC’s IT systems.
