Terminal operator pays N122m severance package to 94 retirees

The Terminal Manager of Five Star Logistics Limited, Mr Jaysing Kamthe, while presenting the cheques on Tuesday at Tincan Island Ports, Lagos, described the development as a fulfilment of the terminal’s responsibility to its workforce.

Kamthe expressed delight at the peaceful termination of the contracts.

“Five Star engaged four stevedoring companies that provided about 94 workers that are being properly disengaged today.

“They have received their cheques, which demonstrates the company’s prompt commitment to their welfare,” Kamthe said.

He stated that the four stevedoring companies included Ilutex Limited with 21 workers, Sahih Limited with 25 workers, Macbanadot with 26 workers, and Good Intention with 22 workers.
