Highlighting the importance of women’s empowerment in the surveying profession, Akintola stated, “The contributions of women in the surveying profession and beyond have increasingly proven to be invaluable.”
She emphasised that increased female participation would enhance productivity and improve gender balance within the industry, particularly in the Federal Capital Territory.
A senior lecturer at the Department of Geomatics, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Dr Moses Mefe, who was the guest speaker, urged the Federal Government to provide more support for the surveying profession.
“The involvement of women in the surveying profession will impact technological advancement in Nigeria,” he asserted.
He added that such inclusion was vital for achieving a balanced and progressive workforce.
