Startup boosts healthcare access in rural areas

Heala’s platform uses technology to connect patients with healthcare providers, enabling remote medical consultations, diagnostic tests, and treatment plans.

Nigeria’s healthcare system has long been plagued by inadequate infrastructure, high costs, and a shortage of medical professionals, the startup said.

According to research published by IntechOpen (Open Science Open Minds), more than 100 million Nigerians lack access to quality healthcare, primarily due to the prohibitive costs.

The Chief Executive Officer of Ofuzim, Anderson Oriahi, said, “Our mission has always been to democratise healthcare access for every Nigerian.

“These partnerships bring us closer to realising that vision by expanding our reach, enhancing the affordability of our services, and serving as an ecosystem catalyst for the health industry in the country,” he noted.
