Ho, Oct. 13, GNA – Students from OLA, Mawuli, and Mawuko Girls Senior High Schools (SHSs) in Ho, have appealed to politicians to ensure that this year’s election is free from violence.

They also urged them to conduct their campaign based on ideas devoid of insults and acrimony, knowing that Ghana is the only country we have.

The students, who made this appeal in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Ho, to mark this year’s International Day of the Girl Child, stressed that it was the duty of all citizens to ensure the safety and security of the country.

Ghana’s theme for this year’s celebration of the Day is “Unite for Peace” as the country is in an election year.

The Day is marked every year to raise awareness about girls’ issues, promote girls’ education, health, and empower girls to reach their full potential, address gender- based violence and discrimination
