Scores of people arrested as scuffle ensues between Democracy Hub protesters and police

A major scuffle broke out today, Sunday, September 22, between protesters from the Democracy Hub and the Ghana Police Service.

The chaos occurred on the second day of a three-day protest organised by the group to express their dissatisfaction with what they describe as economic mismanagement and other pressing national issues.

The scuffle resulted in the arrest of 11 protesters including an 62-year-old woman as the police remained steadfast in their efforts to maintain law and order.

The protest, led by legal practitioner Oliver Barker-Vormawor, aims to push for reforms that they believe will improve governance for the betterment of the Ghanaian people.

The group has vowed to persist with their demands and ensure that the concerns of citizens are addressed.
