Proteas batters in dire straits in opening Afghanistan ODI

Proteas captain Aiden Markram has won the toss and elected to bat first.

The South Africans handed an ODI debut to middle order batsman Jason Smith. He gets his chance in in the absence of Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller.
