Paralympic athletes back in Nigeria

The first batch of 24 athletes, excluding officials, landed at 11 pm Nigerian time via Air Maroc; the second batch, comprising mainly Para Table Tennis players, arrived at 8 am on Tuesday morning via Qatar Airline; and the last batch, consisting of the Para-Ahletics team, arrived in the country at noon on Tuesday.

President of the Paralympic Committee Nigeria, Sunday Odebode, expressed gratitude to God for the safe return of Team Nigeria. He equally commended the Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Owan Enoh, for supporting the athletes.

Meanwhile, the returnee Paralympians are full of praise for the FMSD Lagos Liaison Officer, Nkana Mbora, for her motherly role in mobilising Lagosians who besieged the Muritala Mohammed International Airport yesterday and today to welcome the contingent.

Nigeria won a total of two gold, two silver, and three bronze medals at the Paralympic Games concluded on Sunday.
