OpenseedVC launches $10m fund for African startups

Backed by a robust network of over 50 seasoned experts, including founders, operators, and high-net-worth individuals from Africa, Europe, and the US, OpenseedVC will offer up to $150,000 starter checks to support operators from zero to one.

The investor said the fund would focus on investing in the Future of Commerce (B2B Software, AI, and FinTech) and the Future of Health & work, aligning with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Led by Partner, Maria Rotilu, OpenseedVC aims to invest in at least 60 startups over the next five years, primarily in Africa and Europe.

The fund operates an open application process, allowing founders to apply without an introduction, OpenseedVC noted.

According to the firm, Rotilu, an experienced operator turned investor, brings extensive market expertise from scaling multinational technology startups like Uber and Branch to millions of users.
