NYG: Anambra, Delta shine in 200m, 4x100m relay finals

Anambra reigned supreme in the girls’ 200m as girls’ 100m champion Chigozie Nwankwo won her second title at the games by running an impressive personal best of 24.71s.

Nwankwo inspired an Anambra 1-2 finish, with her teammate, Adaeze Ezeh, winning the silver medal in 25.02s and Ngozi Okereke (Delta) settling for bronze in 25.25s.

Nwankwo and Ezeh later teamed up with two others and successfully defended their girls’ 4x100m title, winning their second consecutive gold medal at the National Youth Games with a time of 48.21s.

Edo finished second in 48.82s, and Team Ogun came third in 48.90s.

The hosts, Delta, responded in the boys’ 200m and 4x100m finals.
