Egerton-Idehen emphasised that achieving the ambitious goal of promoting economic growth and development required coordinated efforts, including accelerating industrialisation through the digital economy.

According to the NIGCOMSAT CEO, it has already initiated various programmes and collaborations to drive job creation and innovation, such as the NIGCOMSAT Acceleration Programme, which partners with startups and enterprises to promote digital entrepreneurship.

“At NIGCOMSAT, we are dedicated to supporting the Nigerian Government’s eight Presidential Priorities, with a key focus on economic growth and job creation: “To promote economic growth and development through job creation, food security, and putting an end to poverty.

“Achieving this ambitious goal requires multiple coordinated efforts, including accelerating industrialisation through the digital economy. Every week, we strive to advance this vision through our strategic pillars at NIGCOMSAT, ensuring our actions and initiatives are fully aligned with these national priorities,” the NIGCOMSAT boss detailed.

Egerton-Idehen revealed the agency was also working with rural network providers to extend digital access to underserved areas, integrating these communities into the digital economy and supporting businesses, job creation, and poverty reduction.
