Mary-Jane Ohobu to celebrate African art at exhibition

According to her, the event will incorporate music, painting, body art, textiles, poetry, jewelry, sculpture, pottery, masks and decorations.

She added that with the exhibition, she hopes to amplify distinct cultures on the global stage, presenting unique and one-of-a-kind pieces that span different decades, and showing how various eras influence one another, creating a rich tapestry of interconnected artistic expressions.

This year’s event, which is also in commemoration of Black History Month, will feature presentations from across Africa and the Diaspora, providing a dynamic platform for creatives to express their imagination while honouring their African heritage and traditions.

Artists that will showcase their works at the event include Minika, Hakeem Salaam, FashionandcoEco, Mmakamba, Cute-Saint, Eneyi, Nyny Ryke, Tijani Charles, Theodore Calliste, Clemzy Art, and Christine Mike-Nnaji.

Fashion and music showcase will also spice up the event. This is in addition to a panel discussion featuring leading African artists, curators, and cultural scholars engaging in an insightful discussion on the intersection of traditional and contemporary African art.
