The New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, in Kano State has given up to the end of this month to all the aspiring Caretaker Chairmen and Councillors in the 44 local governments to resign.

”Those of them wishing to contest in the forthcoming local government elections in the state should resign their appointments,” the party said.

The Chairman of the party, Hashimu Dungurawa, gave the directive while addressing newsmen in Kano on Tuesday.

The Kano State Independent Electoral Commission, KANSIEC, has scheduled November 30 for the conduct of the Chairmanship and Councillorship elections into the 44 local governments in the state.

Mr Dungurawa said the directive was necessary to enable them to prepare well for the polls.
