Kamala Harris to appeal to Latino voters at Las Vegas town hall

The vice president is courting undecided Latino voters who have been turning away from the Democratic party.

Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris will be making her pitch to Latino voters at a Las Vegas town hall on Thursday night.

The town hall, hosted and broadcast by the Spanish-language network Univision, comes as Democrats have been losing ground with Latino voters, once a reliably blue voting block.

While Harris continues to lead the Republican nominee, former President Donald Trump, with that section of the electorate, a recent poll by NBC News and Telemundo showed that Democrats’ advantage with Latino voters has declined to its lowest level in the past four presidential cycles.

The poll put support for Harris at 54 percent among registered Latino voters, while Trump got 40 percent and another 6 percent said they were undecided.
