“It is either you fight for Ghana or you are not selected to play” – GFA President warns players

Accra, Oct. 9, GNA – Mr. Kurt Edwin Simeon Okraku, President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has made a passionate appeal to the present Black Stars to exhibit dedication whenever they wear the national team’s colours.

The Black Stars of Ghana are set to face Sudan in the third match of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) following their disappointing start to the qualification campaign, which included a loss to Angola and a draw with Niger.

Ahead of the Sudan encounter on Thursday, the GFA President met with the team at their hotel in Accra, where he vented his frustration towards their commitment to the national team.

According to Mr. Okraku, the team’s recent performances have been very disheartening, with players showing a lackadaisical attitude, which should not be condoned.

“The minimum Ghana expects is a group of boys who will show passion and desire to play for the country and not seen walking when the ball is heading towards their net. Either you decide to play for the 30 million people or not play, then you will never be selected.
