Idowu: Madestone gem who adores Saka

At just eight, he boasts a height that intimidates opposing defenders, while his mesmerising skills have seen him drawn in comparison with Three Lions and Arsenal star, Bukayo Saka.

A promising striker, Idowu, a student of Lead British International School, Ibadan, told PUNCH Sports Extra that he developed an interest in becoming a professional footballer at age five, hence the reason he registered with Madestone Football Academy, a place he believed his talent would develop optimally.

“I love watching football because it gives me so much fun,” he said.

“Three years ago, I started having the desire to play the game and not just watch it. My parents are very supportive, and that is why they took me to Madestone Football Academy, where I can develop my skills and grow up to be a great footballer,” added the young protégé, who, though already considered one of the biggest talents in the country, learns with the utmost focus, determination, and humility under the tutelage of coaches at the academy.

Idowu sees England forward Bukayo Saka as his role model and envisions himself as another version of the Arsenal man in the future.
