ICSAN inducts 366 members

The President/Chairman of Council, ICSAN, Funmi Ekundayo, described professionals as catalysts of development when they channel their expertise and energies toward developing both the public and private sectors of the country.

She said, “Professionals in any socioeconomic milieu are the catalyst of development in that they produce services to nurture economic progress, growth and national prosperity through the effective use of their expertise. It is incumbent on the professionals to channel their energies into building strong and thriving public and private sector institutions to enable the nation to realise economic growth and sustainable development.

“Nigeria is full of potentials and we believe every one of you can harness these potentials simply by practicing your profession to the highest standard. As you contribute your quota to the progress of the nation, there is also the responsibility you owe to the Institute.”

The induction lecture, titled ‘Building a successful career as a governance professional: An effective and pragmatic guidance’ was delivered by the President and Chairman of Council of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, Prof Pius Olanrewaju.

He told the professionals to see themselves as the custodian of corporate governance, adding that they must discharge their professional duties with transparency and ethical standards.
