How sports can curb social vices — NSCDC commandant

The Commandant, represented by the Deputy Commandant and Head of Critical National Asset and Infrastructure, Aderinola Adefela, made this statement while declaring open the state command’s Sports Week on Wednesday.

He urged private corporations, institutions, and well-meaning individuals to support sports development, noting that it is a valuable means of empowering the country’s youth.

Ojelabi also encouraged the NSCDC football team to increase their efforts and commended the corps’ management for its contributions to the development of football and athletics in the country.

The Commandant stated, “We all know that sports is now a money-spinning venture; it is a great source of empowerment for our youth, helping them channel their energy into productive pursuits.

“It is with this in mind that I call on every agency, institution, private corporation, and well-meaning personality in society to get involved and finance sports development in the country.
