Heap of garbage buries houses, livestock at Kiteezi landfill

Authorities in Kampala said Saturday that they were investigating a structural failure in waste mass after a section of the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Landfill in Kiteezi collapsed on houses and livestock in the early morning hours.

The level of damage is still being assessed with no casualties confirmed by the time of filing this story as search and rescue operation by residents and authorities was underway.
