Government to implement sign language in hospitals for hearing impairment in 2025 –Arthur

Swedru (C/R) August 29, GNA- Mr Chris Jojo Arhin Arthur, New Patriotic Party’s Parliamentary Candidate (PC) for Agona West, says Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s government will ensure the use of sign language in all health facilities to assist people with hearing impairment to enjoy quality healthcare.

The PC said people with hearing impairment go through a lot of trouble seeking medical attention, hence the PWDs’ policy in the NPP Manifesto to address that omission.

Mr Arthur made these known when he addressed PWDs and their leaders in the Agona West Municipality to outline his plans and visions to improve their living standards at Agona Swedru in the Central region.

He stated that health facilities must have sign language personnel to interpret prescriptions and other related issues to them, adding that if Ghanaians voted for Dr Bawumia to become President, he would implement good policies for PWDs to restore their hopes and aspirations.

He said the government under President Akufo-Addo had already made substantial increments in PWDs common fund and other related issues that seek to address their welfare.
