Government pledges support for World Armwrestling gold medalist Grace Mintah

Accra, Sept. 04, GNA – The Ministry of Youth and Sports (MoYS), has pledged to reward gold medalist Grace Mintah following her triumph at the 2024 World Armwrestling Championship in Moldova.

The two-time continental champion became the first African woman to win a gold medal at the event.

She defeated her compatriots from Sweden, Ukraine, Germany and Turkey in the women’s 80kg category to emerge victorious.

The team, together with Board Members of the Ghana Armwrestling Federation (GAF) paid a visit to led by Mr. Mustapha Ussif Minister of Youth and Sports to show appreciation for his support throughout the competition.

Mr. Ussif congratulated the World Champion and the Armwrestling Federation for consistent results over the past few years and assured them that, the gold medallist would be rewarded.
