Galamsey fight: You've failed; wake up to your responsibilities

Senyo K. Hosi

The Convener of the One Ghana Movement, Senyo Hosi has criticised President Nana Akufo-Addo’s handling of the fight against illegal mining, commonly known as galamsey.

In an interview with TV3 on Saturday, October 12, Hosi expressed his disappointment, stating that the government has failed to make meaningful progress in curbing the environmental destruction caused by galamsey.

Mr Hosi noted that despite numerous promises and efforts by the government, illegal mining activities continue to devastate Ghana’s water bodies and forest reserves.

He urged the president to wake up to his responsibilities and take stronger, more decisive actions to stop the illegal practice, which he described as a threat to the nation’s future.
