First phase of Abiriw Sports Complex ready

Accra, Sept 02, GNA – The first phase of the Abiriw Sports Complex in the Okere District is ready.

The phase-two of the project comprises of an athletic Oval, multi-purpose court, 600 capacity concrete spectator stands for the football pitch and athletic Oval.

In addition, it has a 300 concrete spectator stands for the multi-purpose court.

During a technical handing over by the contractor, Mr. Dan Kwaku Botwe, MP for Okere indicated that the whole of the Akuapem ridge lacked a standard sports facility where diverse sports activities could take place at the same venue.

“That was my motivation to lobby for this project to serve the entire Akuapem area to develop talents not only in football but also in athletics, volleyball, basketball, handball, etc”.
