Ewers, who can play blindside flank and No 8, has signed a short-term deal with the Stormers. He played over 200 games for English side Exeter Chiefs before joining Irish outfit Ulster last season.
Ewers, 33, starred for the Exeter team that won the Champions Cup and English Premiership double in 2020.

Stormers director of rugby John Dobson said Ewers would add physicality to the Cape side.
"Dave fits the profile of what we were looking for in the short-term, given we are missing some key loose forwards due to injury.
