Election 2024: LPG will appoint more women based on competence and experience

Elizabeth Sam, running-mate of the Liberal Party Ghana (LPG), says more women will be appointed to positions if the Party wins power in the December elections.

“My party is committed to the Affirmative Action (Gender Equity) Act and will appoint more women to positions of trust to run the affairs of this country in the right direction.”

She explained that experience and competence of work would be the key criteria in appointing women to positions and not based on academic qualifications alone.

Speaking in an interview with the GNA Gender desk, she described her nomination as the running-mate of the LPG's commitment to women's empowerment and a party to be trusted to reserve more than 30 percent of positions for women.

She appealed to Ghanaians to give the LPG a chance come December, 7 to change the fortunes of Ghana because it had cutting-edge policies to improve the well-being of Ghanaians, especially the youth and children.
