Edo Queens secure Champions League spot

Their journey to the title began with an emphatic 5-0 demolition of AS Garde from Niger, followed by a convincing 3-0 triumph over Ghana’s Hasaacas Ladies.

In a closely contested clash, they edged Burkina Faso’s Omni Etincelle 1-0, proving their ability to win even under pressure.

In the semi-finals, Edo Queens faced a tough challenge against Ivory Coast’s Inter D’Abidjan, but their resilience and tactical discipline saw them secure a 2-1 victory, setting the stage for the decisive final.

Against Ainonvi FC, the Queens dominated from start to finish. Suliat Abideen opened the scoring with a stunning strike, followed by Emem Essien’s clinical finish to double the lead. A well-executed team move resulted in the third goal, sealing a comprehensive win for the Nigerian side.

Coach Aduku praised his team’s performance, saying, “The girls have shown incredible resilience and skill throughout this journey. Their qualification for the CAF Women’s Champions League is a testament to their hard work and determination.”
