Oladeji added that four male suspects were arrested in connection with the seizures.
He explained that the contrabands, which were concealed in smaller vehicles, were intercepted at different locations in Lagos on their way to the south-east and northern parts of the country.
He stated that handing over the contraband underscored the importance of interagency cooperation in combating the supply chain of illicit drugs in society.
“We are handing over 6,488kg of cannabis sativa with a street value of N519m and four suspects to the NDLEA,” he said.
He warned that the trading and distribution of illicit drugs, such as cannabis sativa, posed a grave danger to the communities.
