Assembly Member worried over state of Kweikuma STMA Basic School

Kweikuma (W/R), Aug. 22, GNA – Mr Bukari Kyere, the Assembly Member for Kweikuma Electoral Area, in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis, has expressed worry over the poor state of the Kweikuma STMA Basic School in the community.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), he said the school had been in a bad state for some time now, which affected the teaching and learning process and called for urgent attention to resolve the situation.

According to him, the school usually got flooded when it rained due to a poor drainage system in front of it.

“When it rains at dawn through to the morning, teachers and students have no other choice than to stay home; likewise, when it rains during the day, they all have to run to the top of the building for security purposes because of the flood,” Mr Kyere said.

He mentioned that he had called for several engagements with the school’s management body and community opinion leaders to find lasting solutions to the issue but to no avail.
