Adunbarin shows gratitude with new album

Speaking on what inspired the title of the album, he said, “In the course of my over two decades in the industry, I have been through a lot of tough times. As a matter of fact, some people did not believe that I could ever be successful.

“For some years, I was so sick, and there was nobody to help me. I had to put my trust in God, and He sent people to help me. That is why I believe that if one puts one’s trust in God, one is above everything. The tracks in the album are titled ‘Recognition’ and ‘Thanksgiving’.”

On what has kept him relevant over the years, the multi-instrumentalist said, “My dad was a musician. He played with so many musicians, such as Orlando Owoh, Dele Abiodun and Emperor Pick Peters. My dad really motivated me, and he keeps telling me that the music is what will take me higher.

“He believes so much in me, and I had no choice but to believe in myself.”

Advising all musicians to learn to play at least one instrument, Adunbarin, who plays the bass and lead guitars, keyboard and drums, said, “If you are a musician, you should know how to play instruments. That will even make you a better musician.”
