Adeshina bows out of women’s high jump

On her next height, at 1.88 m, she failed on her first attempt but got the job done on her second attempt.

At 1.92m, she missed all her attempts as her Paris 2024 Olympics adventure ended in the qualifying round.

The 25-year-old is the second Nigerian to compete in the high jump at the Olympics after Doreen Amata did at the 2008 and 2016 editions.

Adeshina is a two-time silver medallist at the African Championships (2022 and 2024) as well as a two-time national title winner.

She enjoyed a successful debut season in the United States’s National Collegiate Athletic Association, where she finished third in the women’s high jump as one of the best representatives of her school.
