20-hour daily power supply key to national development—Rector

He lamented that poor power supply was a major challenge to the running of a CBT centre, in which every gadget relied heavily on constant electricity.

“For our CBT center, power remains a major challenge. We have three generators, but resources should ideally be used for other purposes. Businesses in Nigeria face the burden of creating their infrastructure, which hinders growth. Reliable power and infrastructure would allow businesses to focus on their core activities. Regarding logistics, especially network or internet facilities in Nigeria, the main issue is power. Even if the internet is stable, power outages disrupt exams. Reliable power is crucial for operating systems and servers. If the government could ensure 20 hours of power daily, Nigeria would develop rapidly. The government should focus on providing power and good road networks to foster business growth. Security is also fundamental.”

He added that the OBS CBT was available for candidates to write JAMB and WASSCE and other exams.
