Nigerians in EPL: Ndidi bags another assist in Foxes loss

Ndidi’s pinpoint cross from the left wing set up James Justin for a spectacular volley in the 62nd minute, bringing the Foxes level at 2-2 after they had trailed by two goals at halftime.

However, the Nigeria international’s efforts were ultimately in vain, as Arsenal struck twice in stoppage time to snatch victory. Ndidi’s misfortune was compounded when he deflected Leandro Trossard’s shot into his own net for Arsenal’s third goal in the 94th minute.

The Gunners had taken a commanding 2-0 lead into the break, courtesy of goals from Gabriel Martinelli and Trossard. Martinelli opened the scoring by steering home Jurrien Timber’s cross, before turning provider for Trossard on the stroke of halftime.

Leicester, who had managed only one touch in the Arsenal area before the break, mounted a spirited comeback in the second half. Justin reduced the deficit just a minute after the restart when his header from Facundo Buonanotte’s free-kick struck Kai Havertz on its way in.

The Foxes’ resurgence continued as Justin met Ndidi’s left-wing delivery with a swerving volley that beat David Raya via the inside of the post, levelling the scores at 2-2.
